Not PV everywhere. Design everywhere.

On 29 October 2026, SUPSI will host SolarMachines, a unique event dedicated to solar architecture, developed within the SOLARCHITECTURE initiative and organised in cooperation with Solar Agentur Schweiz, on the occasion of the European and Swiss Solar Prize.
SolarMachines starts from a provocation: the energy transition will not only be measured in kilowatt-hours. It will be measured in the quality of the buildings, cities and landscapes it produces.

The question is no longer whether photovoltaics should be visible or hidden, added or integrated. The real question is architectural: what kind of spaces, materials, envelopes and public places can emerge when energy becomes a design force?

Linked to a forthcoming book, a series of docufilms and collaborations with leading international architecture practices, the event brings together innovation, architects, leading industries and education.
